codes and keys // death cab for cutie
Death Cab for Cutie has announced that their 7th album, Codes and Keys, will be released on May 31st. Codes and Keys comes two years after DCFC’s The Open Door EP which gave us a more ‘springtime’ feel from a traditionally ‘autumn’ sounding band. We are interested to see whether Codes and Keys will continue to follow The Open Door’s lead, stick to the familiar DCFC hook-filled tear-jerking music, or be a curious mix of both.

GAH! excited, and yes! two great albums coming about this year already.
it’s a fear, it is near. the shape becomes ever clear.
It bares teeth, extra sharp, that’ll cut you in the heart.
It attacks really quick, try and fight it with a stick.
it’s no use, give it up, this is life and this is love.
You are my alligator“Alligator” by Grizzly Bear
This song is beautiful. I first heard it during the captivating end credits for Blue Valentine. The lyrics align perfectly with the film’s thematic heft and I have to say the overall use of Grizzly Bear throughout the film was wonderful.

Rushmore
It`s strange to think that one of my favorite movies was written by Owen Wilson.
Owen Wilson co-wrote almost all of Wes Anderson’s film.
